Danse Macabre: Skeleman Illustrations

This very dapper Skeleton was found via the Danse Macabre online collection provided by Cornell University.

I think this one is my favorite: Todtendanz fuer alle Staende (poorly translated: Danse macabre for every occasion).

Danse Macabre - images of skeletons that represent the living of various status and station to remind us that we all must die. It's the more universal, artistic take on the notion of Momento Mori.

The sweat was running down my skin

I’d like to escape death nonetheless
