There are some outdoor Halloween props that have been hanging around my house for a long, long time. Perhaps too long. The spiders are a perfect example. Cheap and poorly made to begin with, they likely never expected to have to work so hard. To be hauled out year after year. In wind and rain and sun. By now, they probably thought they'd be living out their golden years in a nice box in the basement. But no. I've grown surprisingly attached to the little guys and just couldn't imagine Halloween without them.
But if not a rest, maybe they deserve a change. They've been spending their time in the same place for years now. Hanging out under the porch light.
So while clipping branches from my shrubs for a wreath, I found just the place for them. After all, if shrubbery is good enough for real spiders, why not their inanimate counterparts?
Who needs a web when you have a wreath?
They look happy here.
