Mystery is important to me; the ability to wonder is a primary humanizing trait. Curiously enough, our very hunger to explore and explain has put the inspiration - the unknown - in peril . I often trouble myself over the fact that information is so freely available over the internet that we begin to take it for granted; there is no room left for awe.
I can't tell you how many times in recent days someone has asked me a question, and my first response - hardly thinking - has been, "let's wiki it!" For many, the question has been answered. Information received. That's the end of it.
It's always so gloriously refreshing with the internet brings something new that raises more questions than it answers. Like the eerie statues at the beach in Another Place, Liverpool. What drives a man to build statues of himself, staring vacantly out to sea? It's unknowable, even if he tries to explain it to you. And learning more doesn't make them any less haunting.
Piquing curiosity should always be what the internet (or science, or invention) is about. I hope you find something today that renews your sense of magic in the world around you.
