It's been a long-time wish of mine to see the Parisian Catacombs; indeed, I'm fascinated by the literal and figurative 'undergrounds.' They retain a sense of mystery.

Though they aren't underground, maybe you'll also find the Capuchin Catacombs in Palermo interesting:
