Someone Else's Table

Sometimes the prettiest Halloween ideas, at least as far as weddings are concerned, come from the October archives of blogs that could care less about Halloween any other time of the year.

BunnyCakes is one such blog - and you can see from her table (pictured, right) that she has incredibly lovely, elegant Halloween style.

I've noticed this past year a log of black table clothes with white serving ware (notice the cupcake tray, for example) - and it really looks stellar. The little pumpkins are a nice touch, as are the simple patterned black-and-white plates. The orange roses against an overwhelmingly black-and-white palette, though, are what really set it off as Halloween tasteful.

I wish I could find some mummy candles like those she has on her table, but if I can't find any I might just drizzle black paint or wax down and around some white tapers. Just to make them a little odd and special.

Yeah. This is definitely being tagged as Halloween wedding inspiration.

The Essentials
  • Black table cloth (preferably one with a subtle Halloween theme, like the spiderweb above)
  • Mini Pumpkins: check out this list of pumpkin varieties, and skim for 'minis' -- around October you can find loads at grocery stores and farmers' markets).
  • Orange Roses (the Rose File has a list of orange roses for growing - check with your florist to discuss options)
  • White and Black Plates, Silver tableware, White and Silver serving dishes - simple patterns are nice.
  • Cut glass or other nice wine/water goblets
Such a fun concept.
